CITA is an international not-for-profit association, based in Brussels, Belgium. It represents all types of organisations and stakeholders (government, private sector, dedicated inspection centres, garage-based test centres and test equipment manufacturers) who share a common interest in exchanging information, developing best practices and draft international standards in the field of road vehicle inspection.
Its work focuses on improving transport sustainability with particular emphasis on road safety and environmental protection. CITA is recognised by the Commission of the European Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (particularly 'The World Forum for the Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations – WP 29') for its expertise in relation to roadworthiness inspections. CITA currently has about 120 members worldwide, representing over 50 countries and covering more than 250 million vehicle inspections a year.

2013 Conference CITA has made Africa a priority and has made the development of the continent a priority, especially on the road safety issue. They have made huge in roads in countries such as Morocco, Senegal, and many others the new focus will be on South Africa and helping to legislate the new Periodic Testing introduction, which is seen as paramount to the safety of all citizens.

VTEQ South Africa was represented at the festival and found the show to be a huge success. Many new possibilities opened and new relationships were formed. Festivals such as these open the minds of individuals who never before though of getting involved in this industry and shows them the difference that everyone can make, as well as being a profitable industry.
VTEQ was exhibiting in the AUTOMECHANIKA FRANKFURT 2012 expo from September 11th to 16th. During the exhibition some of the new VTEQ developments for the vehicle inspection systems "PTI" were presented:

VTEQ was present in the fair AUTOMECHANIKA 2010 that was celebrated in Frankfurt from September 14th to September 19th. During these exhibition days some of the novelties of VTEQ for the vehicle inspection systems "PTI" were presented: new Suspensions Measurement System, Taximeter + ASM, Dynamometer, Ethernet Control System, besides all the conventional VTEQ equipment.
Last September VTEQ participated in the Mekánica Automotriz Canatame 2010 Expo in Caracas, institutional event organized by the National Workshops Camera (CANATAME) in favour of the development and strengthening of the sector. This event, celebrated CIEC, in the facilities of the Metropolitan University, as central subject the introduction to the System of Technical, Mechanical and Physical Vehicle Revision in Venezuela, system impulsed by the National Institute of Land Transport of Venezuela (INTTT) and VBR 2010, C.A, representative of VTEQ in Venezuela. During the event there were different recognitions, among them the ones offered by CERTIPLUS and VTEQ to INTTT and CANATAME, for their excellent work in the development of the national vehicle technical revision system and for the development of the automotive sector respectively. It was in the stand of VBR 2010, C.A where the assistants had the occasion of knowing the integral solution of systems and technological products that VTEQ has kept adapting to the Venezuela’s system together with the local operator CERTIPLUS. The opening of the first CERTIPLUS revision center is planned for March of the next year.
